*Skryabin*

"Skryabin" (Ukr. "Skryabin") is a musical project of Ukrainian musician Andriy Kuzmenko. The band was founded in 1989 and originally consisted of four members. Throughout their career the band underwent significant changes - from electronic alternative and darkwave to pop-rock.

The band emerged in 1989 in the town of Novoyavorivsk, Lviv region, on the wreckage of a number of local rock bands, which were united around the studio "Spati" (Studio of Pathological Silence). "Skryabin" is the first Ukrainian-language project in the genre of alternative electronica. During the creative activity the band has released seventeen studio albums, two compilations, nine maxi-singles, one live album and many other musical projects.

In 2003, on the eve of the release of the new album "Natura", another old-timer of the band - Shura - finally left the project. From that moment Kuzma becomes the only veteran of the band and its full leader and immediately recruits a new line-up: Kuzma (vocals), Alexey Zvolinsky (guitar), Konstantin Sukhonosov (keyboards), Konstantin Glitin (bass-guitar), Elena Razumnaya (back-vocals), Vadim Kolesnichenko (drums).

In 2005 the commercially successful album of the band - "Tango" was released. The new composition of the group is finally approved, records a new album - "Glamour", that on the 14th of September 2006 and was sold in the amount of 70 000 copies.

On the 2nd of February 2015 in a road accident near the village Lozovatka the leader of the band - Andrey Kuzmenko died. On 4 February 2015, a farewell ceremony was held in the Transfiguration Church in Lviv.

On 20 May 2015 in Kiev there was a tribute concert dedicated to the memory of the lead singer of the band "Skryabin" Andrey "Kuzma" Kuzmenko. More than ten thousand people came to listen to the concert and honour the memory of the idol. The band's songs together with the musicians of "Skryabin" were performed by famous representatives of Ukrainian show business.

On 11 July 2015, a memorial sign was erected at the place of Kuzma's death.

On 2 February 2015, band leader Andriy Kuzmenko[1] died in a road accident near the village of Lozovatka, Krivoy Rog District, Dnipropetrovsk Region. On 4 February 2015 in the Transfiguration Church in Lviv was held a farewell ceremony for Andriy Kuzmenko. Andriy was buried on 5 February at the Brukhovetsky cemetery near Lviv.

More than ten thousand people came to listen to the concert and honour the memory of the idol. The Palace of Sports, where the concert was held, was packed to capacity. The songs of the band together with the musicians of "Skryabin" were performed by famous representatives of show business of Ukraine.

Currently, the band exists under the name "Skryabin ta Druzy" ("Skryabin and Friends") with vocalist Yevhen Tolochny.
